Thermal springs Kaďa - Liptovsky Jan
Supposedly, in the Slovakian town Liptovský Ján, you can find 13 springs of mineral water. They were mentioned as early as 1549 by the famous mineralogist Juraj Werner. The most popular spring of the thermal waters here is Kaďa - the microthermal baths that you can use free of charge. There’s a legend about this place, which says that once upon a time a shepherd was passing the spring. One of his sheep was suffering from scabies and by accident fell into the spring. To the surprise of the shepherd, after a few days, the sheep was healed. Since then, he was bathing all the sick sheep in these thermal waters to help them recover. Nowadays, the bath is recommended for those suffering from issues with stomach, liver, skin, as well as rheumatic and gynaecological illnesses. It’s worth visiting as it offers a lot of space for family time. No dogs allowed. Closeby, you can also find a spring, from which you can draw drinking water.
