Liptovská galéria Petra Michala Bohúňa
Tranovského 111/3031 01 Liptovský MikulášSłowacja
The gallery was founded in 1955 and is the third oldest gallery in Slovakia (after Bratislava and Košice). It is located in a historical and cultural city centre, close to the park. The building of the Protestant School was located in the park as well. This is where Peter Michal Bohúň, the artist of the national revival and the classical pieces of Slovakian 19th-century art, worked as a teacher between 1854 and 1865. The gallery’s building dates back to the end of the 18th century and was renovated to the present form in the 1970s. The gallery’s collection encompasses around 5000 pieces of art - pictures, drawings, graphics, photographs and sculptures, which are presented in five permanent exhibitions.
