Saint Stanislaus Church in Frydman
The oldest church of the Polish Podhale, redeveloped many times. The presbytery of this church is made out of sandstone. The church was created in the Early Gothic style - which is visible in the classic Gothic palm vaulting and the aisles’ facades supported by the robust buttresses. The baroque main altar is devoted to Saint Stanislaus, and its central part shows the bishop’s assassination scene, which took place during a mass, at the moment of the elevation of the Holy Sacrament. We recommend seeing the beautiful, octagonal Chapel of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, added to the church in the 18th century, in the centre of which you will find a double-sided altar with a tabernacle. The chapel, in the general reception, is the connection of the Rococo style and folk art. It’s a must-see for the enthusiast of beautiful, but not that popular places.
