The loop around Czarny Dunajec peatlands is an attractive route running through unique natural areas of peatlands.

From the parking lot in Czarny Dunajec, take John Paul II St. towards the intersection with road 957 to Jabłonka. Next to the cemetery, turn into the unpaved road through the fields, which runs northwest, parallel to the road. After around 4 km, you will reach the starting point of the nature trail Torfowisko Baligówka (Baligówka Peatlands). It is worth getting off your bicycles and go for an hour-long walk along the trail. You will see 13 informational boards, which talk about the history of peatlands formation, natural habitats, and the species of plants and animals characteristic for the region of Karpaty and the whole of Poland. At the very start of the trail, you will find a shepherd's hut Baligówka - one of the huts of the Oscypkowy trail, where you can taste different kinds of sheep’s milk cheese (bundza and oscypek) and have a drink of żentyca (a drink made of sheep milk whey).
From the rest stop, the peatlands route goes back towards the road 957, which you have to cross. The next part of the route takes you through the forest Baligówka. After around 3 km, turn left and join the paved path, leading to the parking lot in Czarny Dunajec. Halfway through the route, in Baligówka, you can take a break at a rest stop. The infrastructure includes a shelter with benches and tables, wooden fence, and a bicycle rack. Moreover, you will find here an information board with the cycling routes map, created as part of the project. The rest stop lets you unwind and relax, have a bite and continue on foot to learn about the peatlands on the educational path. This route is one of the most beautiful additional loops offered within the Route around the Tatras. It gives you a chance to wander around a unique area and to learn about the peatlands’ formation and preservation.
