The route in Liptovský Mikuláš, running along the right bank of the Váh river, is the first part of the Route around the Tatras which leads through Liptov. From the Váh river, it is close to the historical city centre, full of interesting monuments, where for the comfort of the bikers and hikers, a cycling path was created on the main boardwalk. The route starts next to the Palúčanský bridge, from where it is the most convenient to get to the city centre through Štúr Street. 

The part of the route in Liptovský Mikuláš has a more recreational character and is also perfect for roller skating. In many places, you will find benches and playgrounds for the kids. One of the attractions is the Ondrej Cibák Kanoe Tatra Klub. Next to the Lodenica hotel, there’s a Park Tool a Rock Machine, where the bikers and roller skaters in need can have free access to a bicycle pump and basic tools. The Route along the Váh river connects to some attractive cycling routes of varying degrees of difficulty. 
Next to the Palúčanský bridge, you can start a trip around the artificial reservoir Liptovská Mara. The route goes through Liptovský Trnovec, where you will find the only bathing beach at the dam. On the way, you will pass Aquapark Tatralandia Holiday Resort, the biggest Slovakian aquapark with geothermal pools. From Liptovský Trnovec, you can continue the trip along the lakeshore to Liptovská Sielnica (5 km), through which the part of Oravská cyklomagistrála leads to Zuberec (see Orava map), going further west to Ružomberok. 
A different route begins next to the Vrbický bridge. Going south and crossing the Váh river, you enter the cycling route to Low Tatras, connecting to Liptovská cyklomagistrála, which you can take to reach Demänovská Dolina. Here’s where the biggest attractions of Liptov are located - you can visit the Ice and Liberty Caves and the ski resort Jasná. During summer, the bikers can make use of the offer of the downhill park Bike World Jasna and go down on 6 routes with varying difficulty.
